Artist from Cape Town Daniel Popper has become known for his towering sculptures of human figures adorned with or imbued with through thick leafy roofs. His newest piece entitled Thrive stands nearly 30 feet tall and is made from 14 tons of fiberglass-reinforced concrete. The piece was recently unveiled at Society Las Olas, a residential complex in Fort Lauderdale, and will function as a permanent public art installation on the first floor. Popper’s work is often more temporary with limited installations at global music festivals like Electric Forest here in the US or Boom Festival in Portugal where his pieces sometimes perform in the centre.
