In the hypnotic area of ”CatgotBubbles explode into kaleidoscopic droplets and pearls of water ricochet across the screen. Created by Ho Tsz wing With Photoshop, the two-dimensional drawings mimic the appearance of a hand-drawn animation. They are set on an electronic track by IS A and gracefully follow a series of flowing, synchronized movements. Downbeats correspond to abstract shapes that flow psychedelically from one scene to the next.
The Hong Kong-based animator and illustrator writes that the structured drawings “highlight the beauty of the colors, compositions and transformations of the objects in the scene” and are in part inspired by artists Masanobu Hiraoka and Matt Abbiss.
