From her studio in Coxsackie, New York, Ruby Silvious ((previously) uses the thin paper bags that hold the drink of their choice in miniature canvases. Sometimes lined up or torn to remove the leaves, Silvious tea bags show the quiet, inconspicuous moments of everyday life: passers-by trudge through the snow, masks hang to dry and two women meet to swim on the naturally colored backdrops. The artist generally keeps the string and label, adapting the everyday theme to the ritual origins of the material.

After its release in 2019 Reclaimed canvasSilvious is working on another book and is preparing for upcoming solo exhibitions in France, Germany and Japan. Shop prints on her sideand keep following her calming work Instagram and Tumblr.
