After a carefully assembled collection of Meals and housewares, Korean artist Lee Ji-hee returns with a life-size paper model of the Heidelberg book printing. Similar to her Vintage film cameras‘Lee’s press is a near-exact replica – she tells Colossal that she studied the original German model carefully before creating her sculpture out of paper and corrugated board – and is complete with a number of mechanisms and branding details, including the signature windmill feeder and plates with company logo and manufacturer information. The machine, which took three months to complete, celebrates the long history of the printing industry on Chungmuri and Euljiro Streets in Seoul.
