Consists of footage shot between 2018 and 2020.Guardian of Paradise“Offers an intimate and sensitive insight into Burmese life. The short film shows children playing on docks, a fisherman hauling in his net and others practicing religious rituals with an attentive look at the joyful, stressful and everyday moments.

Directed by Ivan Maria Friedman of the studio in Lausanne, Switzerland Maya pictures with music by Max Richter“Guardian’s of Paradise” is a small window into the Southeast Asian country before the February 1st military coupsparked by unsubstantiated allegations of electoral fraud following the election of National League for Democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. “At a time when it is most in need of international attention, this work aims to show the uniqueness of Burmese culture and to testify to its incredible strength, whose real power lies in compassion, grace, true generosity and human dignity,” says Friedmann.
