History, science and nature merge in the watercolor and ink drawings by the French artist Steven Salvat (before). Beetles with elaborate armor, rotating gears and antique dials or with extensive intricacies of flora and fauna, Salvat’s works exquisitely lay an imaginative veil on wild animals and insects. Each piece, the result of hundreds of hours of meticulous linework, comes from biological studies and engravings dating back to the 18th century.
